After more than 35 years of serving western Oklahoma, Midwest Music is beginning an exciting new chapter. Learn how Randy Hurst's legacy will continue through Oklahoma Music Co.'s Enid and Weatherford locations.
For more than three decades, Midwest Music has been much more than a music store.
It has been a trusted partner for school band directors, music educators, churches, families, and musicians across western Oklahoma. From first clarinets to concert pianos, countless musical journeys have begun inside the Enid and Weatherford stores.
Today, we're honored to continue that legacy as Midwest Music officially becomes part of the Oklahoma Music Co. family.
Since opening in 1990, Midwest Music earned a reputation for knowledgeable service, strong relationships, and a genuine commitment to music education.
Under the leadership of respected band director Randy Hurst, the company became one of western Oklahoma's most trusted resources for school music programs, instrument rentals, repairs, and musical instruments.
When Randy began preparing for retirement, finding the right successor wasn't simply about selling a business, it was about finding a family who shared the same values and commitment to serving the community.
We're honored that he chose Oklahoma Music Co.
Although our company name may be new to some Midwest Music customers, our mission has remained the same for decades.
Like Randy, our company has always believed that relationships matter more than transactions.
We're still a locally owned, family-operated business focused on helping people experience the joy of making music.
Whether you're renting your child's first trumpet, purchasing a new guitar, or investing in a Steinway piano, our goal has always been to provide honest advice, exceptional service, and long-term support.
For Scott Starns, this transition is especially meaningful.
Although many know Scott through Edmond Music and Oklahoma Music Co., his roots actually begin in western Oklahoma. Scott was born in Altus and grew up spending time with family in nearby Mooreland.
Returning to serve the communities that helped shape his early years makes this expansion feel less like opening new stores—and more like coming home.
"We're incredibly excited to continue the work Randy and his team have built," Scott said. "Our goal isn't to change what people love about Midwest Music. It's to build on that foundation while continuing to serve western Oklahoma for many years to come."
While you'll begin seeing the Oklahoma Music Co. name, customers can continue expecting the same friendly service from the familiar faces they've come to know.
In addition, customers now have access to:
Communities like Enid and Weatherford have played an important role in Oklahoma's musical heritage for generations.
We're honored to become part of that story.
To every Midwest Music customer who has trusted Randy and his team over the years:
Thank you for welcoming us.
We look forward to earning that same trust and continuing the legacy of Midwest Music for generations to come.
Welcome to the Oklahoma Music Co. family.
